Introduction to Computer Security

Join Deian Stefan for an introductory look at computer security. Deian will dive into the basics through real-world, easy-to-follow examples and then will connect it back to the computer science world and the face of cybersecurity.

Deian Stefan is an Assistant Professor in the UCSD CSE Department. His research interests are in building principled and practical secure systems. More broadly, he’s interested in research that spans security, programming languages, and systems. He works with his students on secure systems (from Web frameworks, to new browser designs, and runtime systems), language-based security (constant-time programming, memory safety, and information flow control), verification for security, and (static and symbolic) bug finding tools.
